Coaching
Coaching for university students.
A confidential thinking partner for the years that shape what comes next.
What it is
A space to think it through.
University is a step up, and not only academically. It is a new level of independence, a new way of working, and the first real decisions about who you want to become.
Coaching is a space to think that through, with someone firmly in your corner. It is not tutoring, and it is not someone telling you what to do. It is a structured, confidential conversation that helps you find your own direction, build your confidence, and perform at your best.
Who it is for
For university students and adults.
Coaching at Sophyra Tutors is for university students and adults, aged eighteen and over. It sits alongside our tutoring, which supports school students with their subjects; coaching supports adults with how they think, decide and move forward.
What it helps with
Where coaching makes the difference.
Direction.
Finding your own direction, and setting goals that are genuinely yours rather than what is expected of you.
Confidence.
Building confidence, and handling the pace, the independence and the pressure that university brings.
Performance.
Performing well when it matters, under exams, deadlines and the high-stakes moments that come with the course.
Transitions.
Navigating the big shifts: settling into university, and looking ahead to work and the career beyond it.
How it works
One to one, online, and always starting with a conversation.
Coaching is one to one, online, in confidential sessions arranged around you. We always begin with a free, no-obligation conversation, to understand what you are working towards and to make sure coaching, and we, are the right fit before you commit to anything.
Coaching is £80 per hour.
Your coach
Coaching led by Joseph Russell-Bishop.
Coaching at Sophyra Tutors is led by Joseph Russell-Bishop, our founder. His background spans engineering and education, and he has undergone coaching training through the Academy of Executive Coaching (AoEC). Coaching is a natural extension of the way he has always worked with people: listening closely, asking the right questions, and helping someone see their own way forward.
